Summary to understand the events without reading
The play takes place entirely in the bed-sitting room of the Pollitt plantation home in the Mississippi Delta. It is the old father "Big Daddy" 65th birthday and his family want to celebrate it. The whole play examines the ralationships among Pollitt family, but primary between two brothers and their wives, Brick+Maggie and Gooper+Mae. Each of them have different reason to celebrate his "last" birthday, but the very significant role for Gooper's family and Maggie plays Big Daddy's property. The only person with no interest for money is Big Daddy's favourite son Brick.
